John C. Hendley, 82, of Adel passed away Sunday December 11, 2011 at Be Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville. Rev. Hendley was born January 10, 1929 in Be Berrien County to the late Malcolm and Minnie Isabella Sirmans Hendley. Rev. Hendley lived most of his life in Cook County and was a retired minister w with over 50 years of service in the South Georgia area. He was a Master Mason a and Shriner as well as Pastor Emeritus of Westside Baptist Church in Adel. Rev. H Hendley also served in the Army National Guard. Rev. Hendley is survived by his wife of 60 years Mrs. Betty Louise Cowart Hendley of Adel; a son and daughter-in-law Johnny and Wanda Hendley of Griffin, GA; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ronald "Cotton" Hewett of Adel, Paula and Lester McIntyre of Adel, Sherry and Ricky Young of Adel, Amy and Dewade Bostic of Adel; 13 grandchildren, Michelle and Stacey Skinner of Hahira, Michael and Rebecca Ward of Valdosta, Mark and Sarah Ward of Pelham, Leslie and Ron Edwards of Sparks, Paul and Heather McIntyre of Adel, Erica and Matthew Webster of Lakenheath, England, Jessica and Chad Raper of Adel, Jay and Brittany Hendley of Griffin, Will Hendley of Atlanta, Jana Hendley of Griffin, Elizabeth, Rachel and Sarah Bostic of Adel. Great Grandchildren: Macey Edwards of Sparks, Anna Edwards of Sparks, Josh and Abbie Skinner of Hahira, Tyler, Katie, Lexie, and Gavin Raper of Adel, Peyton and Parker Hendley of Griffin, Levi Ward, Maddie Ward, Presley and Sam Webster, Kinsey and Wes McIntyre. Rev. Hendley is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law Rev. Reese and Faye Hend Hendley of Christmas, FL and a sister Carolyn McCarthy of Ocala, FL and a spec special pet donkey, Matthew. Rev. Hendley is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers R.E. Hendley, Sr. Sr., Joe Hendley, Bill Hendley and Hollis Hendley and two sisters Vera Griffin and and Sarah Novelle Hendley. The family will be receiving friends tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. at Boone Fu Funeral Home on Hwy 41 south (1804 South Hutchinson Ave.) in Adel. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday December 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. at W Westside Baptist Church in Adel with Rev. Hendley's son Johnny Hendley, Rev. W Wayne Boykin and Rev.
