Hobby, 58 of Adel, were held Saturday at 4pm at the Springhead Baptist Church. The Rev. Roscoe Bennett and the Rev. John Hendley, pastor of the Westside Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Slyvester Cemetery. Mr. Hobby died Friday morning, Dec. 12 1980, in Adel Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born March 1, 1922 in Berrien County and had resided in Cook County most of his life. He was a retired maintenance employee of Metal Products. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edna Merle Hewitt Hobby; two daughters, Mrs. Debbie O'Banion of Washington, DC and Mrs. Danette Bennett of Adel; two brothers, Ben Hobby of Wiley, Tex. and Edward Hobby of Bristol, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Lois Livingston of Hahira, Mrs. Jewell Johns of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. June Hopson of Lakeland, Mrs. Ellen Hanks of Morven, and Mrs. Grace Thaxton of Adel; and three grandchildren.
