Adel News - October 24, 2012
 Mr. James David Luke, 51, of Lenox, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at h
his residence. He was born April 13, 1961 in Adel, GA to James M. and Brenda J
Johnson Luke but has lived most of his life in Lenox. Mr. Luke was a member of L
Lenox Christian Fellowship Church, served in the United States Marine Corps R
Reserve and worked most of his life as  a truck driver. David was an avid r
reader and lover of movies and also enjoyed cheering for the Atlanta Braves e
every time they played.
 Mr. Luke is survived by two daughters, Maranda Cassell and Wendy Luke, both of 
Fitzgerald; five grandchildren, Gage Luke, James Bowen, Austen Cassell, Ethan 
Tanner and Drake Young; his mother, Brenda Johnson Luke of Lenox; brother, Mike 
Luke of Tifton; sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Ricky Powell of Norman Pa
Park; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews..
 He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Luke.
 Funeral services for Mr. Luke took place Monday, October 22, 2012 at Lenox 
Christian Fellowship Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiating and 
Mr. Billy Green, David's uncle, providing the eulogy. Interment followed at 
Lenox City Cemetery. Reba Spradley sang "Daddy's Hands" and "On the Wings of a 
Snow White Dove;" Mrs. Eugene Lawson played "Amazing Grace" on piano. 
 Van Lindsey, Scott Johnson, Stacy Griffin, Tim Griffin, Robby Powell, Justin P
Powell, Donnie Moon served as pallbearers.
 Boone Funeral Home was serving the Luke family.
