Walker, 83, of Tampa, died Saturday (Jan. 12, 1985). He was a native of Sparks, GA and had lived in the Tampa Bay area 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. He is survived by his wife, Eva; a niece, Sandra Cox of New Port Richey; sister, Eula Lee Barrett of Sparks, GA; and a brother, Cecil Walker of Sparks, GA; and several other nieces and nephews in other parts of Florida and Georgia. F.T. Blount Funeral Home. Additional Comments: Homer Columbus Walker married Eva Alice Sanders on Oct. 11, 1925. Born in Rochelle, Wilcox County, GA, on Aug. 12, 1901, he was the son of the late John Louis Walker and Sally Coleman, GA. He was a section foreman for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad prior to retiring. He was in the U.S. Army, Co. G 61st Infantry; promoted to Corporal, Camp Jackson, SC on Jan. 15, 1921.
