 Lana Belle Parrish Resta, 87, of Adel, died December 3, 2012, at Cook Medical Ce
Center.
 She was born February 13, 1925, in Berrien County to the late Alvin Johns P
Parrish and Mattie Mae Griffiis Parrish. Mrs. Resta met her husband of 67 y
years, Joseph Richard Resta, Sr, on a blind date and were married on January 2
20, 1945. They lived in Greenwood, MS during his military service, then moved t
to New York for 16 years before settling in Ft. Myers, FL during retirement. T
They moved to Cook County 13 years ago. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic f
faith.
 Mrs. Resta is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Marsha 
Resta of La Belle, FL, Bobby and Jan Resta of Adel, and Barry and Ellen Resta 
of Adel; seven grandchildren, Sean and Annie Resta of Adel, Curtis and Anna 
Resta of San Antonio, TX, Andy and Ginger Resta of Sallas, TX, Clint and 
Karlene Resta of Dallas, TX, Melissa and Daniel Lynch of La Belle, FL, Chad 
Resta of Valdosta, GA and Amanda and James Ray of Adel; 13 great-grandchildren; 
brother and sister-in-law, Carlton and Jeanette Parrish of Thomasville, GA; 
sister and brother-in-law, Delores and John Mainor of Adel, GA.
 In addition to her parents, Mrs. Resta was preceded in death by her husband, J
Joseph Richard Resta, Sr; four brothers, Lloyd Woodell Parrish, Paul Laverne P
Parrish, Carey Irman Parrish and Randall Thomas Parrish; two sisters, Dorothy L
L. Pilcher and Myrtle P. Metts.
 Funeral services were held December 7 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Boone Funeral 
Home with the Rev. James R. Pilcher and Rev. Ted Graham officiating. Interment 
was in Sylvester Cemetery. Selena Weldon sang “I’ll Fly Away” and “His Eye is 
on the Sparrow” during the service and “Amazing Grace” at the graveside.
 Active pallbearers were Tony Parrish, Johnnie Parrish, James “Ricky” Pilcher, Bill
Billy Mainor, David Mainor, Britt Mainor.
 Honorary pallbearers were Randy Tillman, Craig Hamner, Bobby Yarbrough, Mike Led
Ledbetter, Denny Folsom, Dustin Radney.
 Boone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
