  Eugene Sumner, 65, of Sparks died July 8, 2008 at his residence.
 Born October 12, 1942 in Cook County to Lucille Mathis Sumner of Sparks and 
the late William Grady Sumner, he was retired from the United States Air Force 
and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.
 Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sons, Chris Sumner of Enigma 
and Steve Sumner of Warner Robins; two daughters, Lynn Stephenson and Tina 
Sumner, both of Sparks; three brothers, Roy G. Sumner of Adel, Charles Sumner 
of St. George Island, FL, James Ray Sumner of Sparks; 11 grandchildren, six 
great-grandchildren.
 A memorial service was held on July 12 at 2 p.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home 
Chapel with Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Chris 
Sumner. In keeping with his wishes. Mr. Sumner was cremated.
 Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
