Born May 16, 1939 in Moultrie to the late George Howard and Katie Mae Jones W Weeks, she lived all her life in Cook County. She was retired from Valdosta S State University after 35 years as Senior Secretary of the Department of E English. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She was raised by her p paternal grandparents, the late Rev. J.J. and Avia Keigans Weeks. Survivors include her twin sister, Ellen Weeks of Sparks; half-sister, Peggy Dorsey of Riverview, FL; niece, Becky Weeks of Sparks, nephews, Ken and Deke Darsey; grandniece, Samantha Darsey, grandnephews, Kenny and Jake Darsey; aunts and uncles, Kate and Junior Kendricks and James and Bea Folsom, all of Adel, Ina Jones Hendley, Mamie Lee Jones Moore, Martha and Marcus Hayes and Eugene Jones, all of Nashville, Bessie and Bob Garrett of Owensburg, KY, Rachel and Cleo Jacobs of Ovedo, FL, William Jones of Deltona, FL, Marjorie Anne and Cary Snoderly of Jackson; special friend, Dr. Fauzia Durrani of Valdosta. She is also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Donald L. Weeks, aunt, Loren Folsom, a aunt and uncle, Trudie Mae Weeks and Troy Vickers, uncles, Billy Jones, Randall J Jones, Robert Jones, Carlton Jones, Charles Jones, aunt Letha Jones, maternal g grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher Jones of Berrien County. Funeral services were held March 11 at 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Smith and Jimmy Parker officiating. Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Mary and Lonnie Johnson sang "I Can't Even Walk." "Take Me Back" and "This World World is Not My Home." Interment was in Sprinhead Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Randy Kendrick, Keith Howze, Scott Shealey, Stacy Sk Skinner, Dewade Bostic, Cotton Hewitt. Honorary pallbearers were R.L. "Junior" Kendrick, Jr., James Folsom, James H Hewitt, Charles Hamner, Sonny Vinning, Kenny Bennett. Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
