This Indenture, Made the 7th day of February , in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Eight, between Mrs Sallie C McGee of the County of Coweta, of the one part, and R W. Hendrix of the County of Coweta, of the other part, Witnesseth: That the said Mrs. Sallie C McGee for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty four hundred & seventy five dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell alien, convey, and confirm unto the said R W Hendrix his heirs and assigns all of a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the original Fifth now Cedar Creek District of said County & Sate, containing fifty acres it being part of Number one hundred & forty Eight (148) and One hundred and forty one in said District and described as follows, Beginning at the south west corner of Number one hundred and forty eight and running east six and one half chains, thence south East thirty degrees nine & one half chains to the A & W P RR right of way, thence along said right of way to a corner erected by placing an Iron Slab in the ground a few feet east of the south east corner of the red store house on said lot Number (148) Thence North west eight degrees Twenty two and 42/100 chains (22.42) to a made corner at the head of a gully. Thence west nineteen & 52/100 chains (19.52) to the original west line of said lot number 148. Thence south Twenty two & 42/100 (22.42) chains along the original west line of said lot number (148) to the original corner and starting point containing Fifty acres more or less To have and to hold the said Bargained premises with all and singular the rights, members, and appurtenances thereto appertaining, to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said R W Hendrix his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, in fee-simple. And the said Mrs Sallie C McGee the said bargained premised unto the said R W Hendrix his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, against the said Mrs Sallie C McGee her heirs, executors, and administrators, and against all and every other person or persons, shall and will warrant and forever defend, by virtue of these presents.
