Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and forty two dollars cash in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, that I John W Powell hath bargained, sold, and conveyed unto Robert W Hendrix a certain undivided half interest in a certain House & Lot in the city of Newnan now occupied by Ed DeL_____ and the same being sold on the first Tuesday in October 1873 and bid off by John W Powell & P H Whittaker and deed made them by the Sheriff, and said lot containing about one eighth of an acre, and bounded on the South by Mrs Sorrils (Sumrrils ?) lot. To have and to hold unto him the said Robert W Hendrix the said bargained premises all the rights, members and appurtenances to the same in any manner appertaining or belonging in Fee Simple. And said John W Powell for himself heirs, Executors Administrators do forever acquit claim any title, to the same not being responsible in any way for the title conveyed...
