Gadsden, Ala Feb 5th Dear Mother, I take the pleasure of answering your letter that I received the other day was glad to hear from you all. We are all well, Norton has had a very severe spell of pneumonia he is about to get well again. I don’t heare of much sickness here. We are………………. Pg. 2 Abihue bought corn enough to feed his mule at 90 cents when we first came but we have got all our bred to buy. I have bought me a cow I gave 20 dollars she is a good one. I have milk and butter a plenty. I get three gallons of milk every day some days she gives three and a half. None of the children are not going to school now I reckon they will go the last term if we make anything to pay………… Pg. 3 Grape cuttings when you mailed your letter they have not come yet. The letter was a good while a coming. I never got it till last Friday. I will close for I have no news to write. Tell Rosa Willie said he was going to answer her letter this week. Do you ever heare from him and where is his post office. Write soon and tell the rest to write.
