Register..... Newnan, Ga. Dec. 23d “1883” Darling Friend, I recieved your sweet letter. And you can’t imagine how glad I was to get it . You asked me what I had for you. It was a beautiful box of Flowers that I had gotten for you. I did all in my power to get them to you. Marian sent me your note by a boy it was after train time when I received the note or I would have sent them. For I was nearly crazy for you to have them they were so pretty as I have ever seen. Brother John Lester but cried since you left. I did not get to speak to him then. But I will send him the violets for you. You asked me if Brother John was as sweet as ever. Oh Yes. I really can’t tell which is the prettiest, the nicest.....John, Andrew or David. But I believe I think David. I just think he is, he is, the Boss Boy. Don’t you think so? I like Andrew and John both splendid. You haven’t gone back on Marian have you? He told me he was going to spend Christmas in Grantville, Ga. I do hope you and Rosa? will have a joyous time at the party Christmas. I want to have a nice time but Andrew has gone back on me. So has David, isn’t that bad. Don’t you sympathise with me? I know you do. I would be delighted to attend Rosa’s party if it was possible but it will be an impossibility for me to go. Think of me while you are happy that night. And talk to David for me too. I never do get to see him ever. I heard he is loving Miss Nettie May Ansley. I don’t know how true it is..speck it’s so.
