We are all well as common hope these few lines will find you all well. I am so lonesome I don’t know what to do with myself this evening. I am by myself. Ma, Lewis & Louise went to Gadsden this morning to stay a weak and Lucy has gone visiting. Willie he is in Stonewall, Mississippi and June is in Guntersville, Ala. so I am by myself. I have been making napkins this evening. It is very warm here and rains nearly every day it looks very much like raining now. Grandma it don’t seem right for me not to hear from Beatrice. I can hardly realize she is dead. Oh! I won’t have no Beatrice to write to now. Grandma I wish you was out here to help us eat grapes. We have some ripe now. Blackberries are nearly all gone. We made lots of jelly out of blackberries this year. Grandma we get plenty of milk and butter and lots of eggs. We sell lots of milk and butter. There is lots of sickness and deaths out here. The measels are in town again and several cases of typhoid fever. Grandma, today is my birthday. I am 20 years old today and weight 110 lbs. We never do hear from Aunt Gena and Uncle Nat and family either. Aunt Gena never did answer my last letter. I am going to write again this evening. Well, it is nearly night. I have got to quit and go to work so I will have to close. Write soon. Love to all & much for yourself. Your Granddaughter, Mamie Christopher Additional Comments: Transcribed from letter in my possession. Mamie Christopher was the daughter of Abihue Christopher and Guada Lona Bridges.
