OFFICE OF PAYSON S. WHATLEY ATTORNEY AT LAW Office in corner over Asken's Store, Collection of claims a Specialty. Newnan, Ga. Jan 14th 1884 Mr. Ansley Moses Turin, Ga. Dear Sir, The Administrator on the Estate of the late Solomon Bridges informed me Saturday the 12th inst. that he would now pay the note in favor of Mrs. Elizabeth Bridges if she would give a refunding bond with yourself as security. Freeman does not think there will be any danger of her ever having to refund the money, but of course wishes to be on the safe side. The bond is only asked for in the event that the suit in favor of the Mackey heirs should be sustained. Freeman says he does not apprehend any danger that they will ever recover anything. He has examined the case very closely I suppose. He will take any one else whose name will make the bond a good one. Please inform me at once what you will do in the case. If you cannot go on the bond see Mrs. Bridges as quick as you can and make her understand the circumstances. It may be along time before she gets her money otherwise. The Mackey law suit may last a long time and their claim is superior to that of Mrs. Bridges. By giving your immediate attention to the matter you will greatly oblige. Your Servant, Payson S. Whatley Additional Comments: Mrs. Bridges mentioned in this letter is Elizabeth Moses Bridges, wife of Thomas W.
