There are two letters written on the same piece of paper to Eugenia Bridges from her niece and nephew. Gadsden, Ala April 15th, 1882 Dear Aunt and Cousin, I received your kind letters a few days ago and of course was very glad to hear from you all. We have had a great deal of wet weather but the sun is shining bright today. Genia I was sorrow to hear that Gussie Griggs was dead. There is a great deal of sickness her and several deaths. We have not planted any cotton yet but we will get the ground ready today and plant next week. I was plowing in the bottom about two weeks ago and hurt my foot and for a week I could not hardly walk but it has nearly got well now. Rosa you said that you wanted Nortons and Lucys pictures but Ma said that she did not have any money now but she said when she got any money she would have them taken and send them to you. Genia you and Rosa must write soon and often. Your Nephew, Willie Christopher Dear Aunt and Cousin, I received your letter a few days ago and was glad to hear from you all. We are all well as common and hope to find you all the same. Norton is just as mean as he can be and he is just as fat as a little pig he don’t never crawl none now he walks all the time me and Mama goes out fishing every day and catch a heap of fish. You ought to be out here and help us eat fish. I have not much news to write. Tell cousin Harriett that Aunt Nora Blas got a little baby. It is a boy there is a meeting house half of a mile where we live there is meeting twice a month. They have Sunday School every Sunday and I go every Sunday and then come home and eat my dinner and then go the the singing every Sunday evening. Gena you and Rosa must write.
