Additional Comments: From 1941 "Newnan Herald" article by Mrs. Frank (Nellie) Byrom: "Just below the Cox Crossroads on the Greenville and Fayette-road (now Luther Bailey Road) Mr. Austin Bailey settled. This is still a good production farm. Mr. Bailey was a school teacher and taught in a building on this place. My father went to school to him. He reared a large family and the place is still owned by his grandchildren." Alston Bailey was a farmer, school teacher, Justice of the Peace and active church member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary and Elder at Bethel Methodist Church in the First District near Senoia, Georgia.
