Application of Mary L. ___ Patton Durham Mexican War Pension Act of January 29, 1887 State of Texas County of Brzoria On the date herein after mentioned, personally appeared before me, a Notary public within and for the county and State aforesaid, Mrs. William W. Durham who being duly sworn according to law deposes and says: That I am the widow of William W. Durham who enlisted and served in the war with Mexico under the name of William W. Durham as a Private in Company ! commanded by Captain Walter P. Lane Regiment Batalian Texas Cavalry. That I was married under the name of Mrs. Mary L. Patton to said William W. Durham on the 10th day of June 1908 by Rev. Tom McCluer at Waxahachie, Ellis Co., Texas there being no legal barrier to such marriage and that he died on 25 day of April at 9 o'clock eve A. D. 1910 at Forrest, Cherokee County, Texas. That I have not remarried since the death of my said husband William W. Durham that no divorce was ever obtained by him from me, or by me from him. That I had been previously married and that my said husband had been previously married. My former husband John S. Patton died 6 day of August 1895 at Itasca, Texas. That I was born on the 24th day of October 1836 at Coweta County, Georgia and hence I am now 73 years of age. That I have not heretofore made application for pension or bounty land. That my husband was Mexican War W. W. Durham pensionr of the United States by Certificate Number 15-827 and to the best of my knowledge, information and belief he was ________except Mexican War and Civil War. That my post office address is Alvin, Brzoria County, Texas Signature Mrs. William W. Durham.
