Company G of the 53rd regiment was heavy with all the old surnames from the 
Haralson area of Coweta Co., GA. All of the Coweta County infantry regiments 
are posted in the Coweta Co., GA Gen Web Archives.

 Harralson, Ga., April 20th
 To the members of Companies “H,” “D,” “F," of the 53rd Georgia
 Volunteers:
 
 I would like to open a correspondence with you and the other companies
 with a view of a reunion on sometime this year. Please address me. I
 learn that Col. J.P. Sims is dead and that Capt. R.H. Woods, of Senoia,
 is the ranking officer alive of the old 53rd.

Released at Johnson's Island, O. July 1865. (Born in Ga. August 12, 1842.)
