Mr. Quillian was preaching, a hearer, who was a mechanic, conceived the idea of the wheel-barrow. The wheel-barrow has been made a pronounced success. The Times compliments the preacher for the effect produced upon the hearer. The long contested election case over the office of Ordinary of Fulton County has been decided by Gov. Colquitt. The final decision shows that Judge Pittman had about 400 majority over Judge Dennis Hammond. Capt. F. S. Fitch and family are living on a farm in Shelby County Alabama, a snug cozy home full of comforts and pleasures. We trust our veteran friend may become truly independent in his old age. From The Griffn News. Col. Carey W. Styles has purchased the Gainesville Eagle. Mr. J. E. Redwine the former owner has been in the newspaper business for over twenty years in Gainesville and has always published a good paper. While we compliment Col. Styles in getting possession of the Eagle, we are concerned to know what Redwine will do. The Citizens of Bristol, Pennsylvania held an election for Post Master. W. B. Baker was chosen by 92 majority. He went on to Washington armed with the 92 majority in his favor and was appointed and commissioned. This is a novel and yet altogether legitimate way to influence the Post Office Department in appointing Post Masters.
