Newnan, Ga. January 5 (Special)-Mayor-elect A. R. Burdett, and councilmen- elect H H North, H C Glover, T M Goodrum and T G Farmer were installed for the ensuring two years at the regular meeting of the city council last night. [Photo of A R Burdett] After the installation the following were elected as heads of the various city departments. Mayor pro tem T M Goodrum; superintendent of water works C M Speer; chief of police J D Brewster; patrolmen C S Dincanron, and J P Shackleford; city clerk E D Fouse, treasurer G H Carmical; city attorney A H Freeman; paid fireman J C Beavers; city sexton P M McLeroy; street overseer B C Sanders; engineers at water works J C Mayfield and John Kilgore. The annual reports of the different officers showed the city's finances to be in excellent shape and there is a large reserve on hand for additional improvements during the coming year. Mayor Burdett has served the city before in an executive capacity and his administration bids fair to be a progessive and prosperous one. Additional Comments: I put punctuation in for list of officers. The newspaper had none.
