Newton Times Herald - Issue # 47 November 24, 1971
County Commissioner Wilkins Kirby, Jr., Morris Hall, and Thomas Luckie examine 
the construction of one of the Meadows family cabins near Moreland, which have 
been purchased by the county and will be saved for historic purposes. Wooded 
pegs were used to hold the crossbeams in place, and they are still sound after 
nearly one hundred and fifty years.
