Joe Moore. She was the mother of six children and leaves five to mourn her death. She had been sick only a short time and in the eventide of life, like a fading flower, she fell asleep to blossom and bloom anew in the garden of paradise and waft sweet perfume in the heavenly courts. She had been a consistent member of Macedonia Baptist church for more than forty years and was always in her place, ready and willing to share its every burden. None knew her but to love her and all admired her noble character. Her life is to us a lesson of faithfulness and loyalty, an inspiration to the best things of life. Therefore, be it resolved that we bow in humble submission to the will of him who doeth all things well. Resolved that in the death of Sister Moore, our church has lost a consecrated member and the community a good neighbor. Resolved, that our hearts go out in sympathy to each member of the family in their bereavement, and we commend them to the one she trusted. J.W. Dukes C.T. Sewell Mrs. E.C. Palmer Mrs. J.R. Stamps Committee from the Macedonia Church __________ RESOLUTIONS BY PROVIDENCE BAPTIST CHURCH, in Memory of Bro. B.S. Crain Death, the grim reaper, which is sure to come to all of us, has once more entered our ranks and taken from us one of our best and noblest members...We believe that our brother was a true christian, a follower of the meek and lowly Nazarene. His life indicated such a condition. Bro. B.S. Crain was born Sept. 16, 1866; joined the Baptist church at Bethel, Heard County in August 1885; was married Dec 25, 1898 to Miss Ida G. Whitaker, daughter of J.J. and M.M. Whitaker; was ordained a deacon of Bethel church in 1904. He moved his membership to Providence church, Coweta County, March 23, 1907 and was received as one of its deacons. He departed this life Aug 25, 1907. He was a quiet, modest man, and those who knew him best loved him most. He was sorely afflicted with fever a long time, but bore his afflictions with christian fortitude and was submissive to the divine will of his heavenly father. Resolved, that in the death of Bro. Crain, our church has lost one of its most valuable members, the community a good citizen, the family a kind husband, a dutiful son and a loving brother. We extend to the bereaved ones our heartfelt sympathy and pray that god's richest blessings may rest upon the widowed mother and bereaved wife and would counsel his brothers to emulate his noble christian character. J.W. Summers C.T. Witcher J.D. Simms J.E. Askew J.C. McKoy Committee ________ MRS. HORACE DART PASSES TO REST The sudden death of Mrs. Hattie Dart, wife of Judge Horace Dart and mother of Alderman Claude Dart and Edwin Dart, clerk of the Ordinary's court, will be learned with great surprise and deep sorrow by her many friends. Mrs. Dart's illness was of short duration as she had not been considered in a serious condition until yesterday evening, her illness dating only from last Sunday. Of not very robust health, the doctor and family attributed her illness to an attack of grippe but this morning at 8 o'clock the end came, quiety and suddenly. Very few women are known as loved as Mrs. Dart. Of a charitable and broad-minded character, an earnest christian, an ideal wife and mother, ever ready to lend her aid and her presence where was a sorrow, sickness or death, her loss will be most keenly felt. Mrs. Dart was formerly Miss Hattie Ashcraft, and was born in Newnan, GA. Her marriage to Judge Dart was the culmination of a romance as the war broke out while they were betrothed. Judge Dart joined the ranks of the Confederate Army, but secured a furlough to marry his sweetheart. He then placed her with the family of Mrs. Ellen Dart and went again to the front. After the war the young people made their home in Brunswick where they have since lived. There wee six children, of whom only two are living. Mrs. Dart was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and one of its most valued members.
