At 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Judge Hiram Warner Camp breathed his last and at 11:45 o'clock Wednesday night the gentle spirit of Mrs. Dollie Brewster Woodroof passed away; the death of Judge Camp occurring at his home in Moreland, and that of Mrs. Woodroof at a sanatarium in Savannah, to which place she was taken for treatment about three weeks ago. Judge Camp was one of Coweta's most prominent and useful citizens, and will greatly missed, especially in Moreland, where most of his interests were located, and to whose material growth he contributed so generously with his means and energy and all the sources at his command. Besides his extensive planting interests he was at the time of his death president of the Moreland Banking Co. and of the H.W. Camp Mercantile Co. He was also a director of the Newnan Cotton Mills, and had other interests in Newnan. He was a veteran of the civil war, with a record for bravery and fidelity to duty of which any follower of the Lost Cause might be proud. He was a prominent layman of the Methodist church and gave liberally of his means for the support of the gospel cause. His honesty and integrity were characteristics that won the confidence of everyone that came in contact with him in a business way, while the personal side of his nature was equally attractive in the social intercourse with his friends. He was, in fact, a useful and helpful citizen, and his death is a distinct loss to the county. The funeral took place this morning at the Methodist church in Moreland, services being conducted by Rev. W.J. Cotter of this city, after which the remains were brought to Newnan and interred in Oak Hill cemetery. The interment was made with Masonic honors. Deceased is survived by his wife and seven children, the latter being: J.W. Camp, J.P. Camp, Mrs. L.M. Farmer, Mrs. R.F. Brannon, H. Abner Camp, E.M. Camp and H.L. Camp. He was 65 years of age. _________ DEATH OF MRS. DOLLIE BREWSTER WOODROOF We cannot, in the brief space allotted to this sketch, pay fitting tribute to the beautiful character of the noble woman who yielded up her life in a distant city Wednesday night. This sweet service will be more satisfactorily performed hereafter, both by the editor and by other friends whp loved and appreciated her. Mrs. Woodroof was a type of the perfect woman whose beautifully rounded character showed no fault or blemish. Her warm heart literally overflowed with love and kindness and there are few families in Newnan that have not been touched and comforted by her tender manifestations of sympathy at times when they sorely needed it. She was a veritable angel of mercy, whose gentle ministrations will be treasured as a sacred memory by many with whom she walked in fellowship of sorrow in the hours of darkness that enshroud us all at one time or another. We do not need to be assured that her sweet spirit has entered into rest with the saints, because her life was an exemplification of all the graces that adorn true christian character and her daily walk and conversation were ordered according to the high concepts of a pure soul and a consecrated nature. Mrs. Woodroof was 69 years of age and is survived by her husband, Major D.P. Woodroof, of this city, and one son, Mr. H.P. Woodroof of Savannah. The corpse was brought from Savannah this morning arriving over the central road, and was taken to the residence of Mr. Geo. R. Sponcler. At 3 o'clock this afternoon the funeral took place at the First Methodist church, and was largely attended. Services were conducted by Dr. R.J. Bigham, assisted by other ministers in the city. The interment was at Oak Hill. _________ LONE OAK News Mr. Owen Ponder, who has charge of the school at Violet, is with his homefolks at this place. __ TURIN News On Saturday last the writer assisted in conducting the funeral of Mrs. N.C.
