Fuller. __ Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hood were called to Atlanta last Sunday to attend the funeral of their grandfather, Mr. J.V. Hood. __ TURIN News It was our pleasure a day or so ago to meet Col. John Morgan of Arkansas who is on a visit to his sister, Mrs. Cumi Drake near Senoia. He was reared in this section but removed to Arkansas many years ago. His many friends will be pleased to learn that his health is good and that age has not dimmed his mind nor withered his frame. ____ Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, consort of the late Fielding Morgan, is lying at death's door and may die at any moment. Her brother, Mr. Thos. McCullough, died this week near Senoia. ___ PALMETTO News Mr. Rufus Moss of Atlanta is spending a while with his sister, Mrs. Swann. __ Mr. Ed Henley of Douglasville spent Saturday with his uncle, Mr. T.W. Bullard. __ NEWNAN HOME AFFAIRS Mrs. T.L. Camp left Monday to visit relatives in Atlanta. __ Mrs. Alton Arnall who has been critically ill is reported better this morning. __ Miss Edna Frederick of Marshallville is the guest of Mrs. Sam Banks. __ Mr. Abel Robinson of Chambers county, Ala., is visiting his sister, Mrs. A.F. Simril. ___ Mr. and Mrs. Noah Culpepper of Atlanta are visiting their daughter, Mrs. T.F. Rawls. __ Miss IvaDean Sanders of Roscoe is spending the week with her cousin Miss AthaGene Kersey. __ Miss Mertice Mallory of Atlanta has been visiting her sister Mrs. John Kite. __ Mr. Ernest McCullough went over to Haralson Tuesday morning to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Mr. T.A. McCullough whose death occurred on Monday. __ The death of Mrs. Fielding Morgan occurred at the home of Mr. John Addy at Standing Rock, last night. Senoia Enterprise-Gazette. ___ Mr. R.C. McConaughy of Cincinnati was here Saturday and Sunday on a visit to his sister, Mrs. J.L. Barge. __ Mrs. H.C. Warlick and little daughter have gone to North Manchester, Ind., to visit relatives and will spend the summer. ___ CARROLLTON News Mrs. Harry Burns was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Leon Walker at Anniston on Saturday. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Friday, June 5, 1908 TURIN News It is with deep regret that we chronicle the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, whose critical illness was reported in our last writing. She was released from her long suffering on Wednesday of last week. She was a meek and lovely christian, possessing a sweet, gentle, spirit and ever ready to minister to the needs of those in distress or sorrow. Her memory will long be cherished by those who are left to mourn their loss. After appropropriate services, her remains were laid to rest in the Elmore cemetery where they will take their last repose beside those of her husband and other loved ones who had preceded her to the grave. The aged sister and other members of this stricken family have our sincere condolence. ___ Sincere sympathy is extended to Mr. Harrison Nixon, whose beloved companion passed away a few days ago. We well remember the kindnesses shown us in the years agone by this devoted couple, now separated by the cold stream of death. May our stricken brother find a hapy reunion with his loved one in that last day when "the just shall be made perfect." ____ MORELAND News Dr. and Mrs. J.M. Couch have been to Chattanooga to visit their daughter, Mrs. Haygood Camp. __ Mrs. Beasley of Columbus, Mo., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Searcy. ___ HANDY News We were deeply saddened by the death of Mrs. John Widner, which occurred at the home of her son, Mr. Bill Widner, near Newnan on Monday evening last. Interment took place from Elim church Tuesday afternoon, funeral services being conducted by Rev. F.J. Amis. Mrs. Widner was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was ever ready with a warm greeting and cheering words of sympathy and friendship. But, alas, she has crossed over the river and our next greeting will be on the other shore. May god bless and comfort the stricken ones. _______ Mr. and Mrs. Will Kidd of Heard County visited relatives here Sunday. __ PALMETTO News Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Sims and daughter Katherine are spending the week with Mr. Spaight Sims at Corinth. __ Mrs. Herman Johnston entertained at cards Friday afternoon in honor of her sister-in-law, Mrs. John E. Smith and her guest, Miss Powell. __ Mrs. Sallie M. Covin of Hogansville is visiting her sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wiley and Mrs. Stevie Dean. __ Mr. S.R. Condor is quite sick at this writing. __ Mrs. Penn of Carrollton is spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs. Robinson. __ NEWNAN HOME AFFAIRS Born, on the 4th inst., to Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Bailey, a daughter. __ Miss Woodie Bowman is visiting her grandparents at Cedartown. __ Mrs. G.D. Lay of Gainesville is visiting her cousin, Mrs. C.A. Merck. __ Mrs. Mary Bridges of Sharpsburg is visiting her granddaughter, Mrs. J.P. Pitman. __ Mrs. F.B. Ackis of Birmingham, Ala., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Alsabrook. __ Mr. and Mrs. W.H S. Harris of Jonesville, S.C. are visiting the family of Mr. J.H. Foster. __ Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kestler and child will leave tomorrow to visit relatives at Statesboro, N.C. __ Mrs. John E. Robinson returned this week from a visit to her sons at Columbia and Newberry. S.C. __ Mrs. Harry Garrett of Augusta, arrived this week on a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. R. Sponcler and will spend the summer in Newnan. __ Mrs. John M. Briscoe and daughter MIss Ida Briscoe of Marlow, Okla., will arrive today to spend some time with Newnan relatives. __ The following business was transacted at the regular monthly term of the Ordinary's Court on Monday last: Leander B. Watkins, executor of Miss A.J. Boyd, granted letters of dismission. W.C. Ragsdale, executor of Mrs. Arbisena Ragsdale, granted leave to sell lands belonging to said deceased. J. Hicks Chandler appointed guardian of Mabel Mitchell Chandler. ______ CARROLLTON News Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Word and family have gone to Borden-Wheeler Springs for the summer. Mr. Word will engage in the livery business while there. ___ Mrs. John Blalock of Chickamauga is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A.A. Simonton. __ Major and Mrs. W.A. Coleman accompanied by their grandchildren, comtemplate visiting San Pedro, Hondoras where they will be the guests of their sons, William and James Coleman. It is their purpose to remain in the republic twelve months if they find the climate agreeable. _____ From the home of his progenitors, Gluckstadt, Germany, Hon. E.G. Kramer writes that he is enjoying life with his aged mother, whom he found in wonderfully fine health, for one of her advanced age. ___ Mr. J.R. Murphy of Moreland, arrived a few days ago and will spend the summer with his daughter, Mrs. Charlie Huie. ___ Mrs. A.D. Turner and Mrs. A.P. Travis spent Tuesday in Temple, the guests of Mr. J.L.
