April 26, 1901 The weather has been so disagreeable the past few days the farmers are at a loss to know just what to plant. Rev. Mr. Hood filled his regular appointment at Sargent last Saturday and Sunday, delivering two excellent sermons. Farmers' High School has had a good attendance during the entire term, and the work done by Prof. W. T. Morris, and his accomplished assistant, Miss Maggie Johnson, has been highly appreciated by the patrons. The school will close Friday, May 3. Closing exercises will take place at the school-house Friday night and the annual picnic will occur at Reese's ferry May 4. Everybody to invited come and bring well filled baskets. Mrs. A. L. Sewell visited relatives in Campbell county last week. Mr. Tom Newton had quite a serious mishap last Sunday at Powelville. His horse ran away and tore up his buggy. Miss Maggie Johnson visited relatives and friends at Powelville on Sunday last. Several of our young people attended the singing at Happy Valley Sunday afternoon. Mr. Richard Jackson visited relatives in Newnan last Friday, returning Saturday P.M., accompanied by Messrs. Sherod Dukes and Harvey Haynes. The infant of Mr. A. L. Sewell is quite ill at this writing. The many friends of Mr. Tom Dukes will be glad to know that he is somewhat better. We are pleased to note that we have a fluorishing Sunday-school.
