L. Barron Funeral services for Mrs. C. L. Barron, 61 West Washington Street, were conducted Saturday afternoon from the graveside in Oak Hill cemetery, the Rev. William Henderson, pastor of the Central Baptist Church, officiating. She is survived by her husband, C. L. (“Bud”) Barron; six daughters, Mrs. James Williams, St. Simons, Mrs. Bill Thompson, Albany, Mrs. David Reynolds, Newnan, Mrs. Larry Mealor, Newnan, Mrs. Hugh Farmer, Jr., Newnan, and Mrs. Gray Cane, Jr., Montrose, Ala.; sisters Mrs. J. T. Ball, Newnan, Mrs. Robert Estes, Tallassee, Ala., Mrs. Harry Davis, Gulfport, Miss., and Mrs. Lynwood Beers, Newnan; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Barron, who died in a local hospital Friday, November 28, 1980, was a native and lifelong resident of Coweta county, where she was born July 9, 1892. She was the former Gussie Boynton, daughter of the late Gaines and Alah Herndon Boynton, pioneer citizens of the county. She was a member of several civic and religious organizations, including the Central Baptist Church, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the American Legion Auxiliary. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
