It is with deep sorrow we mourn the departure of our little friend Mary Evan Brakefield. Her life though brief, was a rare poem of infinite sweetness and earnest Christian piety and the tendrils of the hearts of the Juniors and teachers had been drawn close about her. But yesterday, as it seems, she was among us in the full flush of innocent childhood, yet in a few short days the grim Destroyer seized her and her gentle lovely spirit took its flight to that Celestial home of Eternal Light. God loaned her ot us for a little while, then reached down and plucked the lily, leaving us the sweet fragrance of a pure, spotless life. Fare-thee-well pupil and friend. We have loved thee and love the still. Thy character is fairer than the lily and more fragrant than the jessamine. "Thou art gone like a beautiful dream of youth or the vision of an angel vanishing in the night, yet thou dost still abide like sweet strains of music echoing in the memory and wooing us to a nobler life". We shall miss thee in the Sunday school, no more will thou answer to roll call for thou has answered the summons on high. Thy sweet face, gentle voice and unselfish deeds are things of yesterday, but in the days to come memory will oft times whisper thy name in loving ears and hope ??? down to loved ones and point a finger heavenward. Since it has pleased the All wise Providence to take from us our beloved friend and esteemed associate, be it Resolved, That the Senoia Baptist Sunday school has lost a most faithful little attendant, the church a consecrated worker, the school an ambitious pupil and the home a precious jewel. Resolved, That her gentle, modest, pure life ever be cherished and that her example of sweet humility and consecration ever linger to stimulate and inspire us to a brighter, nobler life. Resolved, That we join in sorrow and sympathy for the dear ones of her home and entreat God's blessings upon them. Resolved, That these resolutions be placed on the minutes of the Sunday school and that a copy be sent the family of the deceased. Mrs. Annie M. Davis, Miss Maud Fowler, Miss Lucile Carlton, Miss Grace Jones, Miss Ruth Edwards, Committee.
