Space would not allow us to explain in full the life of this Christian woman, for she was noted in her youth for her sweet disposition and obedience. She has been on her fevered bed for eleven weeks, not a murmer (sic) or complaint was made, but seemed to be perfectly resigned to God’s will. She has been a devoted wife and loving mother and numbers her friends by the score, but it is all over now and her spirit is basking in the sunshine of God’s eternal glory. Mrs. Burdette was twenty-four years of age and had been a member of the Methodist church for many years. She will be greatly missed among us, but blessed thought, we know where to find her. We extend to the bereaved ones our heart’s sympathy and point you to Him who said, “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.” She is survived by a husband, one child and a host of relatives. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. A. Maxwell, at the Haralson Baptist church and the remains laid to rest in the Baptist cemetery. [From the collection of Mrs. Patterson's Great-Aunt, Lottie (Burdette) Hamilton] [Found in newspaper clippings a few pages later] Card of Thanks We take this method of thanking our friends and neighbors for their many deeds of kindness shown during the recent illness of our beloved wife, mother, and daughter, Mrs. L. G. Burdette. May God in His wisdom richly reward each is our prayer. We also thank for the beautiful floral offerings. L. G. Burdette, Son, and Mother, Mrs. M. E.
