Hayes Dies At Madras. Madras, Ga., February 19- W. H. Harrison Hayes, a Confederate veteran who had almost reached his 88th year, died near here Sunday afternoon. He was a distant relative of Rutherford B. Hayes, the nineteenth president of the United States. He served throughout the war between the states in the 41st Georgia regiment, company K. He had been a member of Liberty Christian church for many years and his quiet life of sobriety has had a religious influence far beyond his own family. Besides his widow he is survived by the following five daughters and five sons: Mrs. Frank Cook, Mrs. Thomas Hyde, Mrs. Charles Sewell, Miss Etta Hayes, all of Madras; Mrs. Glenn Carter, of East Point; O. B. Hayes, postmaster of this place; Erit Hayes, of Newnan; Curtis Hayes, who is at present engaged in Nebraska in evangelistic work as a singer for the Christian church; Cauley Hayes and Yaeger Hayes, of Atlanta. A brother, Pinckney Hayes, of Decatur, Texas, also survives him. Funeral arrangements await the arrival of the son from Nebraska.
