Mrs. Sara King Herndon

Mrs. Sara King Herndon of Cleveland, Ga. and formerly of Atlanta, died April 
30, 2001.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Gwen) Portwood, 
Atlanta; sister, Mrs. Bess Verrill, Fayetteville; brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph 
(Hazel) King, Helen, Ga.; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Randy and Liz Portwood, 
Atlanta; Mr. Andrew Portwood, Atlanta, Rev. and Mrs. Charles and Alicia Davis, 
Spartanburg, S.C.; seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be Thursday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at graveside, Andrews Chapel 
United Methodist Church, 4301 Highway 70, Roscoe, Ga. in north Coweta County.  
The Rev. Charles Davis will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to Andrews Chapel United 
Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral 
home and Thursday at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Andrews Chapel.

Sara King Herndon was married to Geter Abner Herndon, son of Geter Herndon and 
Emma Gullatt Herndon.
