Mrs. Dora Herndon Died Last Saturday in Local Hospital

Mrs. Dora Herndon, well known resident of the Elim community, died last 
Saturday in a local hospital following a long illness.  She was 65 years of 
age.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. N. Carmichael, Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. 
Elizabeth Brown, Memphis, and Mrs. Emmett Estep, Turin; two sons, Ernest 
Herndon, Eanon Grove, Heard County, and Everett Herndon, Akron, Ohio.  Two 
brothers, H. B. and A. M. Hardegree, both of Vienna, and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 o’clock Monday afternoon from Elim Baptist 
Church with the Rev. W. W. Chandler officiating.  Interment was in the church 
yard with J. U. McKoon and Son in charge of arrangements.


Additional Comments:
Dora Hardegree Herndon was married to William Luther Herndon, son of Preston 
Anderson Horn Herndon and Ann Jones Amis Herndon.
