A. "Josie" Hornsby, 79, formerly of Atlanta, died Wednesday at a hospital in Columbia SC. She had been visiting her son, Hamilton Hornsby in Columbia. Funeral plans will be announced by Howard L. Carmichael & Sons. Mrs. Hornsby was the mother of Tom Hornsby , who is in the employ in the pressroom of Atlanta Newspapers, Inc. A resident of the Atlanta area most of her life, Mrs. Hornsby had recently made her home with her daughter, Mr. R. D. Oakes in Montgomery, Ala. She was a charter member of the Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Other survivors include three sons, J. S. Hornsby of East Point, Carl Hornsby of San Antonio Texas, and L. L. Hornsby of Tampa, Fla.; a sister Mrs. Mollie Torrance of Palmetto and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. M. J. Hornsby of Norfolk, Va.
