The Newnan Herald and Advertiser, November 24, 1903 

We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Carey Hughen, of the Second district, 
which occurred on Monday morning last, after a lingering illness. She leaves 
an aged husband and sseveral children to mourn her loss, who have the 
sympathies of enery one in their sore bereavement. The funeral occurred on 
Tuesday at Mt. Gilead, services being conducted by Rev. W. J. Cotter.
