Resolutions of Respect.
Adopted by Oakland Lodge, K. of P., on the death of C. F. Meyer, A Member of 
said Lodge
Whereas, it has pleased the Supreme Chancellor Commander of the Universe to 
summon Charles F. Meyer into the presence of the Supreme Lodge; and, 
Whereas, During his life he was an active exemplar of F., C. and B., and ever 
ready to answer every official command; and,
Whereas, the fluourishing and progressive condition of this lodge is largely 
due to his untiring efforts in its behalf; therefore, be it resolved --
1.  That while we are deeply grieved to have his name removed from our roster, 
we, as true Knights of Pythias, submit to the command that summoned him.
2.  That all be impressed with the certainty of a like summons, so that we can 
raise our visors and stand in the presence of the Supreme Chancellor of the 
Universe with the consciousness of a like discharge of every Pythian duty.
3.  That we commend to Pythianism and the world the Friendship, Charity and 
Benevolence that he taught, lived and died -- to the influence of which this 
Lodge is largely due its prominence in this domain.
4.  That we extend to his bereaved family our deepest sympathies, and assure 
them that in his death we, too, feel a personal loss.
5.  That a page of our minutes be dedicated to his memory, that a copy of these 
resolutions be spread thereon, that a copy be furnished his family, and also 
published in both the local papers.
