Perdue, as well-known and highly esteemed citizen, died very suddenly yesterday morning at his home on West Chapel street. Mr. Perdue was born in Monroe county in June 1841, and was in his 70th year at the time of his death. He came to Griffin in 1889. He was married Sept. 5, 1867, to Miss Martha Ann Addy, of Coweta county who survives him, together with five sons and four daughters. He was a member of the Baptist church, and a clever, kind-hearted gentleman, news of whose death was received with the keenest regret by all who knew him. He was for many years agent at this place for the Atlanta Constitution and had accumulated a neat fortune in premiums offert by that paper. -- Griffin News and Sun, 19th inst. Deceased was an uncle of Judge L. A. Perdue, of this city.
