G. W. SPRADLIN Funeral services for Mr. G W Spradlin were held at the First Baptist Church Monday morning. Dr E. W. Stone officiating, assisted by Dr. C. W. Durden. Mr. Spradlin was an employee of the R.D. Cole Mfg. Co., and held a position as tank erector. While engaged Satruday morning in the erection of a large water tank at Raleigh, N.C. he fell from the scaffolding on the inside of the huge structure and was instantly killed. Mr. Spradlin would have been 21 years of age in a few weeks, was known and appreciated as an industrious, capable young man, and his tragic death was a great shock to his friends. He had been with R.D. Cole Mfg. Co. for several years, and was highly regarded both by the company and by his fellow- employees. He is survived by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Gus Spradlin, and one sister, Miss Gladys Spradlin. The interment was at Oak Hill, Messrs. J.B. Fuller, T.K. Barron, C.E. Griffith, L.L. Lankford, Emory Upshaw and Roy Owens acting as pallbearers. As a mark of respect to the deceased the shops of R.D. Cole Mfg. Co. were shut down during the funeral.
