Mary Lee Hendrix Watson, 89, of 12 Chateau Dr., Rome, passed away Thursday, 
Dec. 18. She was born Jan. 2, 1914 in Coweta County and was a retired spinner 
with Goodyear. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by: husband, Albert Watson; 
parents, James Hendrix and Mary Barrentine Hendrix; and infant daughter, Joyce 
Watson. Survivors include her children, Jean Evans and Elaine Shaw, both of 
Rome, Wiley Watson Sr., Gertrude Shelstead, Rachel Witt, Elton Watson and Irene 
Wells, all of Cedartown, and Eddie Watson, Rockmart. Twenty-one grandchildren 
and 37 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted 
Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m., from Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny 
Tucker officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Gammage Funeral 
Home was in charge of the arrangements.
