M. A. Padgett
dob 1840 in S.C. served in confederate from S.C. and camed to Georgia after war 
and married Martha Phillips dob 1852 in Fayette Co. 12-Sep 1871  and they were 
the parents of W. C. Padgett. they lived in Cowetta, Fayette and Spalding 
Counties and Martha was buried at Whitewater in 1923. dont know what hapened to 
M. A. because he was never discussed in the family, but my Uncle Ralph told me 
that he had a family in S.C. but i have not been able to prove it and Uncle 
Ralph told me that he died in prision for bigmy but i do know that he was 
convicted of fraud in 1906 iin Spalding Co.
