John Henry Thompson, late of Turin, Coweta County, Georgia, USA, born November 
10, 1839 [Georgia Militia District 622, Henry County, Georgia], was the son of 
[Reverend Charles] Chestley ‘Chesley’ THOMPSON, born circa 1804, and his wife, 
Mary Ann ‘Polly’ Hudgens, born circa 1813, [both his parents last enumerated  
[1880] in the area of Georgia Militia District 534, Pike County, Georgia, 
USA]; J. H. [John HENRY] THOMPSON died April 6, 1924, from complications of 
paralysis related to complications of one year durations in illness. 

John Henry THOMPSON first married Martha V. BENFORD, circa 1839-1890, and 
married second Nancy E. FOWLER, circa 1865-1951; he was a farmer. 

He is buried in the church cemetery of Haralson Baptist Church, in Haralson 
County, Georgia. 

J. H. THOMPSON is believed to be the grandson of Henry THOMPSON, late of 
Jasper County, Georgia, USA, and the grandson of North Carolina Revolutionary 
War Veteran William [J.] HUDGENS, and his wife, Martha.
