GEORGIA, Coweta County

To any Minister of the Gospel, Judge, Justice of the Inferior Court, or
Justice of the Peace:

You are hereby authorized to join Alexander Thompson
and Rebecca Ann Waldrop in the holy state of mat-
rimony, according to the Constitution and the Laws of this State; and for so 
doing
this shall be your sufficient license.

Given under my Hand and Seal, this 17th day of October 1846

1979, Vol I," published by the Coweta Co Historical Society in 1980 on pg. 
157, but the date of marriage has a typo - it shows 10-18-1946, not the 
correct date of 10-18-1846]

Valerie,

I was able to finally get a copy of the marriage record for Rebecca Waldrop 
and Alexander Thompson. Like you I searched through the online images not only 
for Coweta County but for any County that was in the immediate vicinity with 
no luck. I also e-mailed every county probate clerk in the general area. 
Finally, the clerk in Coweta County became curious enough when I emailed her 
again regarding the possible mis-indexing of the record. She went and pulled 
the original file and "voila"- there it was in the file. I now have a copy of 
the October 18, 1846 marriage record of Alexander Thompson and Rebecca 
Waldrop. It does not appear in the index nor the images online of the marriage 
records of the county but it IS in the original file. Thank you again for 
giving me the clues I needed to finally find the record.
