Being in bad health and knowing moreover that life at best is uncertain, I have thought it best to make evoke a disposition of my property to take effect at my death. (1) I give and bequeath to my mother, Mrs. Margaret Boyd, all my property both real and personal, to have and enjoy for and during her life. If she finds it necessary to use up or dispose of any part of the corfers of the personal property, she may do so; and the remainer interest in the personal after her death shall extend to only such part of the same as may be left undisposed of by her. (2) At the death of my mother, I desire my land sold by my executor - the five acres off the Watkin's lot to be sold at a different time from the others - the proceeds to be disposed of as follows: (3) I want a monument put over my mother's and father's graves and over my brother's (W. L. E. Boyd) grave, and one over mine, and a wire fence around the family burial ground. I want the proceeds of the five acres to be appropriated towards my grave. (4) I give & bequeath my brother Dr. J. Y. Boyd, one fourth the net proceeds of the land, after taking out the expenditures on account of item three. Out of this one fourth are to be deducted what my brother owes me on some notes I hold against him, unless he shall sooner pay off the same. (5) I give and bequeath to my sister, Mrs. Elzia Linch, one fourth of the net proceeds of the land after taking out the expenditures to be made as per item three. (6) The rest and residue of my estate I will and bequeath to the children of Mrs. Mollie Rhodes born and to be born. (7) I have not given the children of my brother W. L. E. Boyd anything for the reason that I have already paid out to him and on his account as much as I would have given him, and he expected nothing on that account from me. (8) I appoint my uncle Leander B. Watkins my executor. I revoke all former wills. (9) Witness my hand and seal A. J. Boyd while of sound and disposing mind and memory, voluntarily sign, declare, and publish the same as her last will and testament, and that then and there defonent and the said H. C. Small, P. F.
