This file was contributed by: Jeanie Smith Zadach DaisyZ@aol.com ==================================================================== FHC #040379 Book B, Page 28 Coweta County Probate Court August 16, 1850/September 2, 1850 Georgia Coweta County I Thomas Duke of the County & State aforesaid knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of Death and being of Sound mind and disposing memory do for the disposing of my earthly goods after first disposing of My Soul to him who gave it and my body to the dust to be buried in a plain but Christian like manner ~ I do hereby make ordain publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner & form following to wit ~ Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my brother Charles Duke one Negro boy by the name of George and eight hundred dollars after my death. Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto Emily E. Berry one Negro Woman by the name of Leteto & her two Children Eliza & Ellen & her increase after my death ~ Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto Rebecca Dodds one Negro Girl by the name of Dinah after my death. Item 4th I give and bequeath unto Stephen D. Smith one Negro man by the name of Willis after my death. Item 5th I give and bequeath Mary E. Word one Negro Woman by the name of Matilda and two hundred dollars after my death. Item 6th I give and bequeath unto Rebecca Glass wife of George Glass one hundred dollars after my death. Item 7th I give and bequeath unto Lucy Moton & Sarah Smith & the children of Bird Parks Sr and the following Children of Welcome Parks Wm B. Parks & Martha Smith wife of Stephen D. Smith & Caroline Carter wife of Thomas O. Carter & Montgomery P. Smith the balance or remainder of my Estate to be equally divided between the above mentioned persons so as for each one to receive an equal proportion thereof after the payment of all my debts & the Legacies before mentioned after my death. Item 8th I do hereby constitute & appoint Stephen D. Smith & Andrew J. Berry my lawful Executors to this my last will & Testament hereby revoking all previous wills made by me.
