Elder's Will [Coweta County, Georgia Will Book C, Page 82] State of Coweta County [sic] In the name of God Amen I William H Elder of the County of Coweta and State of Georgia, On this the Sixteenth day of October in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and ninety one, Being of sound mind and memory, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength to do, Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills made by me at any time heretofore, and first I commit my Soul to the God who gave it and my body I desire buried in the family burial ground upon my Brother Sterling's Homestead, and my worldly estate I dispose of as follows: Item 1st To my dearly beloved daughters Mrs. Rebecca Jane Hunter, Mrs. Emma Parks and Martha Perkins I give and bequeath to each one, Sic hundred Dollars, having hereto fore given them what I consider their part of my Estate, Item 2nd I I direct my executor hereafter named to sell the fifty acres off of Lot No 178, Fifty acres Fifty acres [sic] in the Southwest corner of Lot No 176 Fifty acres in the South East corner of Lot No 177, and Twenty acres running North, and South in West of Lot No 176, to pay the Eighteen hundred dollars willed to my three daughters, and if said land does not bring enough to pay the Eighteen hundred dollars, my Executor shall make up the deficit so that each daughter shall received of Six hundred dollars. Item 3rd I give and bequeath my to son Sterling James Elder the balance of my Entire Estate both Real and Personal consisting of Four hundred acres of land. I want entailed to my Son Sterling James Elder and his posterity: Item 4 I hereby constitute and appoint my son Sterling James Elder, Executor of this my last will and Testament, and if I should die before he becomes of age, I desire he be allowed to qualify as such Executor.
