This file was contributed by: Elaine Hendricks ehend@lakemartin.net ==================================================================== Coweta County, Georgia Will Book "A" p. 118 - - Will of Allen Gay dated March 5, 1847 I, Allen Gay, of Coweta County, State of Geogia, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit: Item 1st - - It is my will that all my just debts be paid 2nd - - I give and ordain unto my beloved wife Ann Gay fifty acres of land in the South East corner of Lot No. 187, one hundred and eighty seven in the fifth district of said county on which my dwelling house is situated , during her natural life, also my horse, one cow and calf, one sow and pig and three first choice pork hogs, all my household and kitchen furniture except the bed and furniture that stands in the room; also my plantation tools of every description and a sufficient supply of provisions for her maintenance one year after my decease, and the rent of my farm one year during her natural lifetime, then to be sold by my executors and the proceeds to be applied as herein after stated. Item 3rd -- It is my will that after my decease all my stock and furniture not before disposed of and the balance of my land be sold and the proceeds distributed among my children in the following manner to wit: I give unto my son John Gay one dollar in addition to what I have heretofore given him which was a full portion of my estate; I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Eady one dollar as her separate estate not withstanding her coverture in addition to what I have heretofore given her husband Henry Eady which was the full portion of my estate that I allotted him; I give unto my son Thomas Gay one dollar in addition to what I have heretofore given him which was his portion of my estate; I give unto my son James Gay one dollar in addition to what I have heretofore given him; I give unto my son Gilbert Gay one dollar in addition to what I have heretofore given him. The balance of my estate as well what reverts after the death of my wife Ann Gay to be equally divided among the rest of my children to wit: Temperance Brock, Martha Wright, Elias Gay and Matilda Dyer. 4th -- I constitute and appoint Elias Gay and Washington Dyer executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
