Smith dec’d between Montgomery P. Smith one the heirs and legatees of the said Nathaniel H. Smith, dec’d. Thomas Duke executor of the said of the said Nathaniel H. after being duly sworn well and truly to apportion and divide the said Negroes have assigned unto the said Montgomery P. Smith one Negro woman named Phillis and her child William at Six hundred and fifty dollars and one Negro girl named Matilda at four hundred dollars amounting to one thousand and fifty which will leave a balance in favor of Thomas Duke of sixteen dollars sixty six and two third cents all the balance of the said Negroes we have assigned unto the said Thomas Duke executor as aforesaid.
