Bio
Robert Lee Sheets (R.L.).  born in Franklin, Heard
County, Georgia, owned and operated the Roberta Realty
Company, in Roberta, Georgia.  He came to Roberta in 1949
to become Crawford County High, and Elementary Schools
Principal.  During his early tenure as principal, he was
very instrumental in aquiring the funds to build a
gymnasium with a stage (combination gymnasium and
auditorium).  One of RL's beliefs was "A school is not a
complete facility, if it cannot accomodate the children
in an auditorium.  Experiences are gained by children who
have an opportunity to perform on a stage, and this
auditorium made this possible."

His success in obtaining the auditorium did not end
there.  The monies to build the auditorium could only be
used to "build" the structure.  Once the building was
complete, he had to launch a new campaign, to aquire
funds for seats to put in it; and of course, he was
successful in that endeavor also.  Later, approximately
July 1, 1966, he became the Crawford County Schools'
Superintendent.  RL also was involved in the building of
the Crawford County Nursing Home, in Roberta, Georgia.
