Daniel Hartley, off Hartley Bridge Rd. in Crawford County. His is the only marker still visible in the area, but there is evidence of other graves, especially two, side by side, with cedars surrounding it. I read somewhere that it was referred to as Sanders cemetery. This seemed to be confirmed by a handwritten sign when I visited the area, apparently put up by construction workers there, that also read Sanders Cemetery. The marker, which says, "Corpl. Daniel Hartley, 11 VA Regt., Rev. War", cannot be readily seen from the road and is hidden by underbrush, but it is within fifty yards of the road. When I visited there, a couple of years ago, there was a sign speaking of future development in the area. It read, "Whitewater Plantation, 2 1/2 to 12 acre estate tracts." It ended with "Southern Forest Developers." If you know anything about the area or have info of the cemetery, it would be good to hear about it. David Hartley hartley_d1@popmail.firn.edu
