A. Smith gave the church land about three miles away on Sandy Point Road so the church could be moved to a more populated area. In 1939 the old building was torn down (did not burn) and much of it used for the new building. The church history says, "The floor joists beneath the sanctuary of the present church are the same ones used in the first building, making the current sanctuary the same size as the entire original church. Two side Sunday school rooms and a long room behind the pulpit were added at the time of the move."
