Crawford County This Indenture made this 10th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one between Henry Crowell of the county and state aforesaid of the one part and Benjamin Weatherby, William Northern, Septimus Weatherby, Joseph McGee and Reuben B. Davis of the aforesaid county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Henry Crowell for and in consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed aby they these present do gran bargain sell and convey unto the said Benjamin Weatherby, William Northern, Septimus Weatherby, Joseph McGee and Reuben B. Davis (& their successors in Office) Trustees for the Methodist Episcopal Church known by the name of Crowell's meeting House in the county aforesaid one certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the Research on the West side of Flint River known and designated in the place of the Survey of said Reserve by Lot No 2 it being a part of said Lot containing ten acres & one Road and bounded as follows viz beginning at a stake South forty five degrees West nineteen poles to a stake from thence North forty five degrees West forty nine poles to a small pine from thence North thirty seven degrees East thirty seven poles to a dead pine from thence South sixty six degrees East fourteen poles to a stake and from thence South thirteen degrees East forty seven & 3/10 poles to the beginning the same including said Church. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto them the said Benjamin Weatherby, William Northern, Septimus Weatherby, Joseph McGee and Reuben B. Davis Trustees as aforesaid for the above named Methodist Episcopal Church & their successors in Office together with all & singular the rights members & appurtenance thereof to the same in any manner belonging to them and their successors in office for the benefit & use of aforesaid Methodist Episcopal Church in fee simple and the said Henry Crowell for himself his heirs, executors & administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Benjamin Weatherby, William Northern, Septimus Weatherby, Joseph McGee and Reuben B. Davis Trustees as aforesaid for the above named Methodist Episcopal Church & their successors in Office above named Methodist Episcopal Church will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves & against the claim of all other persons whatever. Provided nevertheless that nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to prevent their being a school upon said premises where the school house now stand & the use of the well by said school for the time present or at any other time.
