Crawford County Deed Book “M“, Pages 446 & 447; Dated: September 2, 1884; Recorded December 30, 1884. The State of Georgia, Crawford County - This indenture made & entered into this the 2nd day of Sept 1884 between Ava Hortman of the one part & Martha (Hort - lined through) Ann Bray & the heirs of her body that she may bear during her marriage relation with her present husband George Bray of the second part: Witnesseth, that the said Ava Hortman for & in consideration of Five Dollars to her in hand paid as well as for the natural love & affection that she has for her only daughter & children as aforesaid & also in consideration of the care, nursing, waiting on & support there is hereby promised and covenanted by the said Martha Ann Bray during the life of said Ava Hortman hath given granted sold & conveyed unto the said Martha Ann Bray & her heirs as aforesaid. After the death of said Ava Hortman the following property consisting of one cow & calf, my household & kitchen furniture, also three acres of land more or less in the 7th Dist in said County, the place on which I the said Ava Hortman now reside to wit: two acres lying in the south east corner of lot No. (156) one hundred & fifty six. Also one acre in the north east corner of lot No. (155) One hundred & fifty-five. To have & to hold said property with all the rights-privileges & after the death of said Ava Hortman as aforesaid to the said Martha Ann Bray & her heirs that she may have or has had by her resent husband George Bray as aforesaid in fee simple; and the title to said property the said Ava Hortman to said Martha A. Bray will warrant & forever defend by these presents in witness (page 447) whereof the said Ava Hortman has hereunto set her hand & seal the day & year aforesaid.
