Witnesseth that the said Mary Slaughter for and in consideration of the of Sixty Dollars to her in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained granted and sold and do by these presents grant bargain and sell all my right title and interest & claim in lot of land No 43 forty -three in the third District of Houston originally now Crawford County which parcel of land I the said Mary Slaughter will forever warrant and defend to the right and title thereof from myself my heirs Executors and administrators and every other person or persons whatsoever unto him the said Jeremiah Slaughter his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple. In witness whereof I the said Mary Slaughter have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above written. In the presence of Test Wiley Webb her James S. Webb Mary (backward S) Slaughter mark Georgia Crawford County Personally appeared Nathan Fowler a justice of the peace in and for said county_ Wiley Webb who saith on oath that he saw Mary Slaughter sign the deed for the purpose therein named and signed it as a witness and saw James S. Webb sign it as witness also. January 28, 1846 Wiley Webb Nathan Fowler J. P. Registered January 30th 1846 James J. Ray, Clerk Additional Comments: pg 420 January 28, 1846 Jeremiah Slaughter borrows $60 from Wiley Webb and if not paid by Dec 25, 1846 fifty acres of Land Lot 43, 3rd district will revert to Wiley Webb.
